WINDSOR, ON/DETROIT, MI – Feb 23, 2026 – CJAM 99.1 FM, a non-profit, volunteer-driven, campus-based community radio station, kicks off its annual Pledge Drive Week on Friday, February 27, running through Friday, March 6. This essential fundraiser ensures CJAM can continue to broadcast music, spoken word and multicultural programming that listeners won’t find anywhere else in Windsor and Detroit.
With a small staff and dedicated team of local volunteers, CJAM depends on the support of listeners and independent businesses in the community. This year, CJAM aims to raise $40,000—40% of its annual budget—to continue its 43-year history of providing an alternative to mainstream media.
“Community radio is at a crossroads, and independent, not-for-profit radio stations like CJAM are more important than ever,” says Garth Jackson, station manager at CJAM. “Our listeners, supporters and volunteers make what we do possible—keeping unique voices and music on the Windsor-Detroit airwaves.”
CJAM’s programming showcases the station’s diversity and creativity. From Girlie So Groovy with Trevor Klundert to Christien Gagnier’s Songlines to Cameron Well’s Handilink, CJAM offers stories, and music from many different perspectives.
