The Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) presents Viewpoints: a brand new 30 minute weekly news broadcast
Viewpoints aims to make local nws pertinent to national audiences. Dozens of radio journalists, hired through the Local Journalism Initiative, contribute to the show. They are stationed across the country (North, Maritimes, Central, Eastern and Western Canada) and they focus on issues specific to their community. Viewpoints provides an overview of what’s happening across Canada. It presents stories that resonate with large audiences as well as Indigenous communities and focuses on civic journalism, community related stories as well as on arts, culture, health and environmental issues.
Part of the CRFC’s mission is to support campus and community radio stations across Canada. This initiative reflects part of this mandate in collaboration with the NCRA and the Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada (ARCC) and the Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec (ARCQ) for the French version of this radio show.
