Every time you tune in, you’re supporting a volunteer-powered station!

When you listen to CJAM 99.1 FM or stream us at CJAM.ca, you’re hearing the work of passionate volunteers who make it all happen. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of the station—they help run our massive music library, write radio scripts, produce PSAs, interview artists, review albums, assist with events and festivals, manage our social media, and so much more! Every time you listen, you’re hearing the creative energy of our community in action.

CJAM is part of a national campus and community radio station network whose mission is to provide an alternative to mainstream/commercial interests and the CBC.

CJAM is redefining radio in Windsor and Detroit. We are looking for individuals who are open-minded, willing to try things and meet new people, passionate about radio, and desire further engagement with the community.

Not interested in being on-air?

That’s totally cool! We have a ton of off-air opportunities! Email our Station Manager if you are interested in helping CJAM out with the following:

~ Sorting CDs and records around the station

~ Helping us plan and execute events and shows around Windsor and Detroit

~ Writing album reviews

~ Going to local shows and photographing/reviewing them

~ Helping us create fun and engaging initiatives for volunteers and community members

~ Helping us with our social media and website

~ Photography and videography

~ Editing and technical help in our studios

~ Grant writing

Booking Training Sessions

CJAM offers both live on-air and pre-recording training sessions. Learn what it takes to produce a live show or spend some time in our editing booths. To set up a meeting to discuss training options please email our Program Director, Heloisa Selles at programcjam@gmail.com.

Higher Ground Live Training Sessions

We offer live on-air training demonstrations every Thursday at 10:30am until 12pm. Please RSVP to programcjam@gmail.com.

Volunteers do a lot at CJAM

Every time you tune in at 99.1 FM you’re hearing a volunteer on the air. Volunteers also help by maintaining our enormous music library, writing radio scripts, producing public service announcements, interviewing cool artists, reviewing music, helping out at festivals & events, updating our social media, and so much more!
