Call for Interest: Joining CJAM’s Board of Directors

CJAM 99.1 FM is currently has several openings on our Board of Directors. 

We have the following: 

– a UWindsor Faculty Representative (can be administration as well)

– a UWindsor Student (must be a full time undergraduate student)

– a Community Member (resident in Windsor-Essex)

– a UWindsor student Legal Advisor (preferably a UofW Law Student)

These positions are a great way for students, UWindsor faculty / administration and community members to learn about all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into running a non-profit, plus you get to vote and voice your opinion on important station business! 

These seats will be appointed by the members of the Board of Directors until the 2024 Annual General Meeting. I’ve attached the CJAM bylaws below if you’d like to read more about our board composition & election process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– prepare for, attend, and participate in board meetings (approx 5-6 in person/zoom meetings per year)  

– attend, and participate in CJAM FM’s Annual General Meeting & Volunteer General Meeting

– stay informed about the organization and participate in fundraising activities and awareness

– have an awareness or interest with developments in the radio broadcasting and podcasting sector

– vote on motions brought forth in board meetings

TERMS:

– two years or until a successor is duly elected or appointed

Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis and the BoD will likely appoint somebody ASAP so we can get them oriented.
