CJAM Celebrates International Women’s Day

Join CJAM from March 4th to the 10th as we broadcast a week-long celebration of International Women’s Day. Tune in for special programming that highlights the musical contributions of women and discussions issues facing women today. Radio is a notoriously male-dominated medium and CJAM tries to balance the scales everyday with female DJs, staff, and content.

Oracle (Mon: 9-10:30AM)
Forging ahead of the pack in time for International Women’s Day (March 8) Oracle will feature pure head swirling psychedelia from the female perspective. Willy Wilson selects an all-female show for IWD, from Bessie Smith to The Sunday Sinners. Don’t miss out!

Cowboys and Indies (Sat: 10-12:30AM)
Make sure to tune into Cowboys & Indies on Saturday as we put the women of British indie/alternative front and center to celebrate International Women’s Day. An entire show dedicated to female artists and female fronted bands featuring Shirley Bassey to Savages and Talulah Gosh to Amy Winehouse.

The Trip (Sat: 12:30-2AM)
The Trip will be playing a variety of their favorite artists and bands with influential female members.From garage rockin’ cave-women to shouting chanteuses, The Trip! will dig up some classic pop-music gems and loudly laud the lovely ladies of rock and roll!
