Get to know…Taya!

CJAM is celebrating 35 years on the FM dial & we want you to get to know our hosts & volunteers!

Name // Taya
Who? // Volunteer

// How long have you been involved with CJAM?
About a year and a half already!

// How did you become involved as a CJAMmer?
I’ve always loved music & radio and was aware that there was a campus radio station at the University of Windsor. I knew I wanted to get involved so my first week of University I came in to check out CJAM and signed up for volunteer orientation.

// Describe your show & volunteer experience
I mostly help out hosting special programming and music variety shows. I am also our Board of Directors president.

// What is your favourite topic of discussion?
I could talk about pop culture for daaaayyyyysss.

// My other life consists of…
reading, playing guitar, reality tv, movies, and sad attempts at learning French.

// What was your best live music experience?
My favourite live experience was getting to meet Courtney Barnett after a show & telling her she is my favourite guitarist!

// What do you love most about CJAM?
I love that every time I come into CJAM there are always different and interested people to meet and talk to. I also love how there is so much to learn at CJAM – from the people who work & volunteer there, to the music played & topics discussed on air.
