The Higher Ground Festival Organizer will help CJAM by running a successful and well-attended festival by overseeing every logistical facet.
Job Duties and Description:
– overseeing the creation of promotional material, marketing and advertising
– staff the festival by recruiting and overseeing a team of event volunteers
– create materials such as maps and signage
– plan and supervise site setup and breakdown
– schedule and liaise with local musicians for booking times, and secure 12 local musical acts over one day
– schedule and liaise with a photographer/videographer on capturing photo and video elements of the event
– schedule five visual artists
– liaise with sound technicians for live concerts
– schedule a storytelling event with six storytellers
Experience:
– past experience in coordinating live concerts
– the ability to handle many moving parts
– strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills
– community building experience an asset
– meeting tight deadlines and dealing well with pressure

The role is a contract, part-time role at 18 hours per week for sixteen weeks at $17.36 per hour.
