July 2026

A monthly spotlight on Windsor–Detroit artists selected by CJAM’s Music Department.

What is Singles Club?
Each month we share a selection of singles from Windsor and Detroit artists. It’s a snapshot of what’s happening in our community right now, highlighting music we’re excited to put on your radar.
Stream the tracks below or check out the individual artists’ pages. If you’re an artist with a new single, please use
this form to send it our way for next month’s consideration, OR send a clean, tagged MP3 to cjammd@gmail.com

Jack White — “Dollar Bill”

Rock
Detroit, MI

Needing no introduction, Jack White leads off his new album ‘Frozen Charlotte’ with his latest single ‘Dollar Bill.’ A rollicking slide guitar leads into his signature guitar tone with riffs that drive this stomper. Album drops July 10 and clearly Mr. White has not lost a step, if this month’s singles club addition is any indication. Look for the full release on Third Man Records soon, especially in the ‘Zug Island Blue.’

Kiwi Jr — “Pure Michigan”

Pop / Rock
Toronto, ON

“American kids crossing the bridge to Canadian Bars…” This quote alone made this new single from Kiwi Jr. an easy add to this month’s singles club. The video features a ton of footage of Windsor and Detroit shot in “a lo-fi, home video, Kiwi verité” style for a track driven by Attractions era organ riffs and swirling melodies. Pure Michigan wrangles the ineffable joy of border hopping for good times into under 3 and half minutes of pop.

Leighton Bain — “100 Different Ways”

Folk / Singer-Songwriter
Windsor, ON

Leighton Bain is a Windsor, Ontario-based singer-songwriter known for his honest, rootsy, and Americana-style folk music. His newest single, “100 Different Ways” features a stripped-back instrumentation and production treatment that envelopes you from the first guitar strum.

Compliments — “DAYSHIFT”

Alternative Rock
Windsor, ON

Ian Joseph of Cons of Jupiter has recently stepped out with an array of new singles as ‘Compliments.’ Appearing on CJAM sessions this last month, we are lucky to include ‘Dayshift’ in this month’s singles club. A rolling bassline carries the infectious melody and driving rhymes for Compliment’s latest release.

Olivia Van Goor & Mike Harrison — “I’d Really Like to Know”

Jazz
Detroit, MI
Olivia Van Goor has quickly become one of the busiest jazz vocalists in Southeast Michigan – no doubt a result of her strong work ethic. This new track, co-written with pianist Mike Harrison, is a bouncy, swingin’ tune that’s reminiscent of a bygone era and sure to put a smile on your face.

Bethany D’Alimonte — “Wasting Time”

Pop / Singer-Songwriter
Amherstburg, ON
The newest release from Amherstburg, ON singer-songwriter and owner of Musicland Amherstburg is a song about standing still while life keeps moving around you. A perfect song for the dog days of summer.

Cole Cyrenne — “Greedy”

Rap / Hip-Hop
Windsor, ON

Young up-and-coming musician, producer, and lyricist Cole Cyrenne makes the Singles Club cut with his debut release, an electronic hip-hop track with influences of dub.

Semi-Automatic — “Same Old Streets”

Rock
Hazel Park, MI
A deep reflection on missing his hometown of Hazel Park, Michigan. Driving riffs in the vein of all the great ‘Detroit Rock City’ that came before, Semi-Automatic holds down the heavy for this month. Steeped in a bit of mystery, Semi-Automatic joins singles club for the first time this month.

OKPERFECT — “Emit”

Post-Hardcore / Emo / Alternative
Windsor, ON
Cathartic alternative music is the calling card of OK Perfect. This Windsor five-piece wears their influences on their sleeves as the band’s sound recalls post hardcore and emo. In a nostalgic and heavy concoction produced by Siegfried Meier and mastered by Troy Glessner, OK Perfect joins this month’s singles club with the track ‘Emit.’

Carley Lusk — “Raspberries”

Pop / R&B
Detroit, MI
Detroit songstress Carley Lusk is a first timer on our CJAM Singles Club, and we’re happy to have her. With a sultry pop-R&B soul sound, her new track “Raspberries” is about returning to the suburbs of Michigan, and how it feels to chase a dream while settling down into womanhood. The tune feels like a cool breeze on a Michigan summer night.

Jamiel Dado — “This Time Tomorrow”

Singer-Songwriter
Berkley, MI
Jamiel Dado sends his new solo release, “This Time Tomorrow,” after an absence from the CJAM airwaves since his former act, the Interior Project, had been played on the station years ago. The new track is a languishing and lilting guitar riff with tones of Lennonesque vocals washing over top.

Birds from Dinosaurs — “The Last Time”

Indie / Psychedelic Rock
Berkley, MI
Another project from Jamiel Dado featuring Regan May on bass, Doug Smith on guitar, and Mark Tabor on drums, hails from Southeast Michigan. The Last Time finds the indie/psychedelic rock four-piece in pop territory with melodies that echo nineties stalwarts the Posies and guitar solos that wouldn’t be out of place on a Teenage Fanclub release.

Mr. Blackmore — “Mic and A Beat”

Hip-Hop
Windsor, ON
Mr. Blackmore has recently been cutting his teeth at Phog Lounge. ‘Mic and A Beat’ comes from his latest release, ‘4 Now.’ The new cut displays the syncopated groove and impassioned lyricism of an MC that has honed his craft over the last few years.
