Station Manager Monthly (ish) updates!!

Hello CJAMmers,

A monthly update on all things CJAM for everyone…

1) Playout One is scheduled for installation, with training to begin this summer. We will also install a new playout computer at that time to support the new system and library. We will also be adding NMas hard-drive system to house the library. This will allow live programmers to build their setlists prior to airing and the live play back all elements from the station’s computer.

2) Website update; We are working with Outhouse Creative on the design side and Brainrust’s own James Brown for the backend development. Initial designs are very sleek and modern and response has been great. Very excited to share this with you all in the fall.

3) The first night of Bring Your Own Vinyl was well attended with about a dozen folks bringing records to play and many more to listen at Walkerville Brewery. Everyone had a great time and we have a second instalment Thursday August 27.

4) We are curating the music stages for Dropped on Drouillard and we are very excited to partner with this event, one of the best in Windsor. Look for lineup updates soon.

5) The library is in much better shape and Austin has reorganized a large part of the whole department (emails, label/promo contacts, and charts). We went from having one basic chart to having three charting categories. Very excited to see LOUD charts for the mighty CJAM once again. Shout out to Ryan, Behdad, Joe and any one else spinning the HEAVY.

6) September 24 is slated for our AGM and we will be introducing some by-law changes at that point. Murad, RJ, and Rosina have been working hard on these and we will have an information package for all members before the meeting so we all go in informed and ready to vote on these changes.

7) We have booked some venues for the fall Jammies/Higher Ground birthday extravaganza, The dates for Higher Ground are Nov. 13 and 14. This will be the launch of Pledge Week to get back to our traditional week to have the event. We will also be bringing back the Jammies after too long of an absence.

8) A call out to all of our volunteers for bingo assignments. I will be sending an email of the dates available as they come in. If you have not been trained to work bingos and want to help in this essential part of our funding, please reach out to me at statcjam@gmail.com. A large part of the ongoing upgrades to station tech is due to the funding we get from the OLG.

10) Lastly, the transmitter is ready to go we have all necessary power upgrades in place. Once we are ready to flip the switch I will let everyone know.

Have a great rest of the summer everyone,

Garth
