A Farewell to Kolm

Next week, August 28th will be the final episode of Trapper Radio.

Josh started the music variety program Trapper Radio on March 3rd 2009, taking from the name of a Kids in the Hall skit. On the first show, Windsor and Detroit heard This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, Mountain Goats, Ladyhawk, Mother Mother, Propagandhi, and more. On the first blog post about the show he said, he  “stumbled, paused, had crappy transitions, misplaced stuff and played the wrong song once, but overall I think it was a good opening experience.” Over three years later, Josh has become one of CJAM’s best hosts and volunteers. We’re sad to see him go.

Off air, Josh has always been a big part of the CJAM family. He has been on the Board of Directors and has been our fearless President of the Board. He has helped new volunteers become acquainted with the station. He won 1/2 of a Jammy Award in 2011 and attempted to steal the whole thing in 2012. Josh has also worked for the Lance. Plus, he has organized and hosted the local open-mic poetry night Toast at Phog Lounge. He is a Pro-Wrestling enthusiast, Uwindsor graduate, future lovable curmudgeon, talented writer, and music aficionado.

Now, Mr. Kolm is venturing out of Windsor. Everyone here at CJAM wishes him all the best in his academic and professional endeavors. Tune in next week to his live finale on Tuesday, August 28th from 2:30-4pm, call in, and wish him luck too.
