CKUT Homelessness Marathon Live on CJAM

Join CJAM on Wednesday, February 20th as we join our sister station in Montreal, CKUT as they host their 11th Homelessness Marathon. From 10:30-11PM, join Paul Chislett host of The Shake Up (Fridays from 4-5PM) as he goes live talking about the local issue of poverty and homelessness. Tune in for a live broadcast from the Windsor Worker’s Action Centre, located in the heart of downtown Windsor. Paul will be speaking with some of Windsor’s homelessness community about their lives and the struggle for dignity and fairness.

The community is also welcome to join CJAM at the Windsor Worker’s Action Centre (328 Pelissier Ave) starting at 9PM for coffee, snacks, and conversation (which kicks off at 10:30PM).  Listeners can tune in at CJAM 99.1FM and cjam.ca.

Our regular schedule will resume next week with Nite Flights in entirety in its normal timeslot.

More about the CKUT Homelessness Marathon: The 11th annual Homelessness Marathon will take place from February 20-21, 2013. Every year, the Homeless Marathon serves up 14 hours of people-powered radio, broadcasted on over 40 radio stations across Canada. With the goal of being a consciousness-raising event, the Marathon will provide an opportunity for homeless people and their allies to take to the airwaves, and allow a nationwide discussion on homelessness issues and possible solutions.
